People often ask me how I ended up helping Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs get found by their ideal clients on the internet and social media. With over 25 years experience in corporate America, the volunteer sector and the education arena, I have a varied background in working with others, teaching, problem-solving and multi-tasking.
My goal is to help Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs:
- Get found locally by their ideal clients through Local Search Engine Optimization
- Make sense of Social Media and the positive impact it can have on their business
- Take care of the internet marketing piece of their business through Social Media Marketing and Management so they may focus on money-making activities
- Drive traffic to their website and increase sales
Since 2007, I have been working with small business owners helping them organize their offices, creating systems for managing their time, and assisting them with day-to-day office administrative tasks. After several years of operating my business as a professional organizer, I suffered a back injury which made it almost impossible for me to continue in that capacity which often required moving furniture and lifting heavy boxes. As a result, I had to rethink my business strategy. Did I want to go back to corporate America or did I want to continue to run my own business and have the flexibility to which I had grown accustomed?
The answer was simple, of course, I wanted to continue to run my own business. I have seen many Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs struggle with the confusion of social media and the frustration of trying to run a business and keep up with the constantly changing internet marketing world. I take away the confusion, the frustration and the overwhelm in order for them to concentrate on the part of their business that they love…and leave them time to focus on being successful and generate profits.
I believe it’s important to invest in training programs and continuing education and have completed social media management training through Social Media Manager School. I’ve also attended Local U, an informative four-hour crash course in the basics of internet marketing and especially, Local Search.
I am proud to share that, in 2015, Simplification Services received national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS), a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
WBENC’s national standard of certification, implemented by WBCS, is a meticulous process including an in-depth business review and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.
Previously, I was responsible for setting up and maintaining filing systems, creating user manuals and records retention guidelines, implementing software modification management systems and programming design and analysis as a Computer Systems Analyst.
I have worked with a wide variety of individuals ranging from Vice-Presidents of major corporations, customer service personnel and clients all around the country. I’ve spent many years in a variety of volunteer positions ranging from Moderator of my Church’s Children’s Council, PTA and Boy Scout Troops. I also enjoyed teaching 4th grade for several years.
I am a member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce. I am a past member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and a past member and two-term Secretary for the NAPO-Austin chapter. I am a Clear & Simple, Inc. certified professional organizer.
I live in the Austin, Texas area with my husband, our two college-aged children, and our energetic dog.
