5 Tips to Streamline Your Social Media Marketing Strategy

5 tips (1)

It’s no secret that social media marketing is an effective way for small businesses to attract more customers and generate more sales. But when you’re busy running a business, you may lack the time and resources to log into multiple social media networks, multiple times a day, to engage with your followers. Thankfully, you can streamline your social strategy by following these tips.

Plan Posting Frequencies

How many social media posts do you intend to make? Simply “winging it” doesn’t work. You need to plan your posting frequencies ahead of time, following this format to maintain a high level engagement with your followers. According to BufferApp, the sweet spot for Facebook is two posts daily; for LinkedIn it’s one post daily; and for Google+ it’s two posts daily.

Schedule Posts in Advance

Instead of manually logging into your social media accounts each time you want to make a post, consider scheduling them in advance. Most social media networks have some type of post scheduling feature, including Facebook, Twitter and Google+. For Twitter, however, you’ll need to create an advertiser’s account to use this feature. You don’t necessarily have to spend money on Twitter Ads, but you do need an active advertiser’s account to use the network’s post scheduling feature.

Plan Content

Another helpful tip to streamline social media marketing is to plan your content. What type of content to you intend on publishing on your social media pages and profiles? You should have a clear and concise content plan as part of your overall social media marketing strategy. Ideally, you should focus on content that’s relevant to your followers and relevant to your business. Certain tools and services like BuzzSumo can help you find trending topics.

Monitor Your Social Media Accounts

Don’t forget to monitor your social media accounts. When a user submits a comment, you should respond to it in a timely manner. Failure to do so sends the wrong message about your business – and that could cost you sales in the long run.

Outsource to a Professional Agency

Of course, you can always streamline your social media marketing strategy by outsourcing the task to a professional agency. Some small business owners simply don’t have the time to maintain a strong social presence, in which case a third-party agency may be the best solution. They’ll take the burden of posting content and engaging with followers off your shoulders, allowing you to focus your energy on other aspects of your business.
