5 Ways to Build Your Brand Using Social Media

March 31, 2016 By Kelly Butcher Leave a Comment

5 ways to

Regardless of your business’s niche or industry, maintaining a strong brand image is essential to its success. When your target audience knows your business and associates it with your respective product or service, they’ll naturally feel more inclined to choose it over one of your competitors. Thankfully, the advent of social media has paved the way for stronger business branding. To learn how you can brand your business using social media, keep reading.

Use Vanity URLs

What in the world is a vanity URL and why should you use them? Vanity URLs are essentially web addresses that contain a custom name. Instead of using Facebook.com/hjs314jdh4, for instance, you can set up your page using the vanity URL Facebook.com/your-brand-name. Simply visit www.facebook.com/username > choose your page > enter your desired vanity URL > and click “Check Availability.”

Consistent Imagery

Try to get into the habit of using the same brand logos, color schemes, taglines and other elements across all of your social media accounts. If you use a particular design scheme on Facebook, you should also use it on Twitter, Google+ and other social media networks. Maintaining consistent imagery on social media will help to increase brand recognition while establishing greater trust in your audience.

Include Details About Your Business

Another simple way to build your brand on social media is to include details about your business and how it was started. All of the leading social media networks have an “about” section for this very reason. You don’t have to write an entire essay here, rather include a brief description about your business, when it was started, what it offers, and where it is located.

Publish New Content Frequently

Far too many business owners make the mistake of setting up social media networking pages and profiles but not updating them with new content. Unless you publish new content on a regular basis, your target audience isn’t going to follow you. Furthermore, users who are following you may choose to stop. To prevent this from happening, try to post at least one piece of new content daily across all of your social media pages and profiles.

Write Using Your Brand’s Voice

When writing new content for social media, do so from the perspective of your brand and not your personal voice. Brands tend to be more professional, which is an essential characteristic of a strong voice. If you are unsure of your brand’s voice, take a step back to analyze its core values and mission. Using this information, you can create a more meaningful and appropriate brand voice.
